Thanks for the info. My vet looked up a dosage for Pyrantel
and it seemed to be a little lower than the dosage
for Praziquantel (8 mg/kg for Prazi, 5mg/Kg Pyrantel).
The Drontal pill had several times more Pyrantel than
Praziquantel, so he didn't think it wise to use it.

I'll pass the reference to Jim Carpenter's Formulary on
to him.

While we're talking about medications, one question that
I've never got a straight answer on is how long a pill
crushed in water will still be effective. I've used crushed
albon for 3 days in a row before mixing a new batch
and it seems to work ok, but should it be mixed fresh
each time? It actually dissolves better after sitting
for a while and is easier to use. Would Baytril be more
time sensitive? I usually keep it in the fridge and
mix it new every second day (I use pills as the liquid
I tried didn't go over well with small gex, they often
spit it out).
