Is anything known about why such a treatment would work? These nutrients
are common to all forms of life, back to the Archaebacteria, AFAIK. Why
would they be toxic to animals of several unrelated phyla but not to
vertebrates?
I'm not saying they don't work, but I think it would be interesting for
someone to do some controlled studies to establish that parasites are
really being killed by this method, and what the mechanism is. It's
possible that the animals are recovering and fighting off the parasites
due to good supportive care.
