/me gurgles. The fundamental thing here is this: Redhat attempts to provide you with a complete, pre-made, OS solution. Gentoo provides the bare-bones, tools, and a big sign that says "Do It Yourself" in large, menancing, script. The fact that this 'service' script is not there means that not enough people have need of it.
