I was safety-piloting a new Archer 3 for a guy the other day. I was
flying the set-ups, and he was doing IFR approaches. From
the right seat I couldn't see the 'ball'. But man, was I over-doing
the pedals! The things I tend to end up in with pedals also tend
to be from the 1940s. On a 172 or an Archer, the pedals seem
to mostly be to steer on the ground and to nudge the heading
back by a couple degrees when flying IFR.
