Dick makes a very good point (in contrast to my earlier useless one). If
you
have flown multiple planes as a student, you will likely be a better pilot
forever. I learned to fly in Tomahawk, Warrior, Archer, and 172, and
flew all of them interchangeably as a solo student. I also had 152 and
Decathlon time with my CFI by the time we were done. And this was
not starting and stopping and changing schools. This was straight through.
I still reap the benefits in that I'm a little more comfortable giving a
plane
what it wants, rather than just matching numbers.

You also will lose about 5 hours of instruction transitioning to a new
instructor.
Non-trivial.

You can use the Coupe as a motivator to keep working and get done. That
(i.e., quitting or not finding time to finish) washes out more students
than
anything else.

What you'll need to focus hard on is being a good, active, pilot in the
landings.
In the 150 you can get away with sort of letting it play out. The Ercoupe
wants
you to be a little busy keeping things in shape. This was very
well-ingrained
in the days of tailwheels, which made the Koop a walk in the park.
However,
the tri-gear Cessnas will forgive a more numbskull approach to airspeed
and
final approach path management than will the Ercoupes. So learn the right
habits now. Don't put it 3 feet to one side of centerline. Put it ON the
centerline
every time. And keep your touch delicate. You'll need to in the Ercoupe.
Firm,
but delicate.
