Hi all, Is anyone else out there using IBA Health's, Practix with a Primary site and a remote site ? I have a client using it and the remote site is un-acceptably slow. Over 30 sec (sometimes 180 sec) to open a patient file at the remote site compared to less than 10 sec at the primary site. And this is with a mere 3-4 users, they want to have 10-15 users !
The doctor who owns the surgery rightly believes the GP's will not put up with this. They have full copies of MS SQL at both sites and a 512/512 ADSL private link using Cisco hardware. Both servers are running Windows 2003 SP1. All client PC'c are XP Pro SP2. All Pc's and servers are tier one hardware. Everything meets or exceeds the recommendations set down by IBA Health. Currently contemplating upgrading the link to 2mbits/2mbits but at great expense. Also contemplated hardware compression devices for each end of the WAN link and several other options. The ADSL is limited by RIM's. There is no line of site to try a microwave link. Any thoughts / comments welcomed, Andrew Cameron. _______________________________________________ Gpcg_talk mailing list [email protected] http://ozdocit.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/gpcg_talk
