Sorry Greg but the intention of the reply was that it has always been
about the impost to the vendor, when we *should* be considering the
opportunities for practices, GP's and patients in a potentially vibrant
interoperable system of databases. 

"it's not about the vendors"; it should be about the management of
health and not entrenched proprietary systems. Free the data and healthy
bodies will follow...
