Be it Madrid, London, Lahore, Lucknow, Karachi, Gaza or Jaipur, the bombings devastate civilian life (civilian in statist-militarist terms!!). But the State at all these places are only concerned with its sovereignty. Hence for the state its law & order problem. The very attacks are intended to challenge the indisputable sovereign claims of the state. State retorts with innovative third degree laws and interpellating the subjects in the classic Bushian dictum "you are either with us or them". The game goes on. In a game where the both sides win all the time and civilians (!) loose all the time. Well.. The state will necessarily respond your call b'coz it intends to insinuate the liberals (as I understand from ur postings) than anyone else. U asked me a solution. I am not solution provider. But I found a humane way of approaching such occurrences in the statement of what u call "self-styled" human rights activist. which I quote below: "The occurrence of these acts, more often on Tuesdays and Fridays gives a signal which goes beyond the thinking of present investigation agencies. There is a need to have a National body with due representation from the socially concerned citizens and Human rights activists who can have a say in these matters and also who in an unbiased way can go to the truth of these acts, unlike the ones at present, where the pattern of investigation can be predicted right in advance due to the prevalent prejudices, which by now have become institutionalized." damodar prasad Best regards, > Murali > > On Fri, May 16, 2008 at 11:09 AM, damodar prasad < > [EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > >> >> >> >> > > > -- > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Liberty, if it means anything, is the right to tell people what they don't > want to hear. > > > --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Green Youth Movement" group.
