Mike, as you know my windscreen is dark smoke as well. Tint or even painted surfaces will not affect radar reception - only metal. It may cause some deterioration of the laser pick up, but as I mentioned with laser traveling at the speed of light, about the only good it's for is to tell you been caught and pull over. Or that you are in a military range - whenever going out by Fallon, NV my laser signal goes off. Scares the s**t out of me, because I'm not usually going 55 in the desert areas of Nv. The other thing too is radar waves will travel thru / around your body so the rear pick up is unaffected.
