Thanks for the input.  I'm working from "Interstellar Wars", which is my *sole* 
resource to the Traveller universe... so ships at TL10 have only J-2 or J-1 
capability, and the idea of a "jump grid" is not explored (I looked for it).  
There is also verbiage to the gist of "the amount of fuel expended is equal to 
[20%] the dtonnage of your ship irrespective of the size of the jump, although 
the maximum at TL10 is 2-parsecs".  So it sounds like some of the rules have 
significantly changed in the 4e version and, ironically, GURPS is limiting 
options rather than the other way around.

The stuff people have been posting sounds kind of cool.  More options in tech 
at various levels.  Not enough to make me go looking for old Traveller books, 
tho.
