I don't think there are players still reading the list, but better save then sorry.

the background: (i hope to get all the important parts without creating too much text)

A mostly standard fantasy world, with only humans no ther races. There is a pretty large kingdom, all the action happens in the boondocks. There are no foreign kingdoms.

The pcs are a sort of fantasy FBI stationed there. Their main purpose is to support and supervise local law enforcement, though they also serve as general speakers of the royal buerocracy in that area, unless someone more qualified is around.

The Baron of Hodurose is stubborn and has medical problems. His favourite son and heir had gone to an adventure expedition and the expedition is lost. Everyone but the Baron assumes the son is dead. The house of Hodurose did have complex marrige deals that involved both the lost son and the eldest doughter, but none of the marriges had taken place already. The Baron and the other family disagreed wether the lost son is dead, and in the resulting quarrel the whole marrige deal got nixed.

The Baron insists that any marrige deal for the doughter, also includes a bride for the lost son.

Assuming the lost son is dead (or legally declared dead, which could be done by the Baron, or by someone above him in the feudal hierarchy, but as long as the Baron lives, it would be against customs, if someone overrules him in that matter) the next heir would the husband of the doughter (assuming she is married).

The Baron will invite the head of an other family, with an entourage of faimily members including prospective grooms and brides, to negoriate a new marrige deal. The pcs will be asked to be around, as protection.

The 2 relatives coming next in the list of heirs, want to prevent that the doughter gets married.

One will simply blackmail a pc to do so.

But i need ideas for disruptive actions the other one (or his lackeies) might do. Preferrably the actions should not be actually real major crimes, like murder, but more in the line of spreading unfavourable information (real or invented) while looking like not being responsible.

For the overall storyline, the marrige deal should not happen.

Personalities of the actors:

The Baron tends to stubborness, and easily sees insults, in the form of not being taken serious because he is from a backwater area and similiar.

the doughter is 15ish and tends to unladylike behaviour (in the tomboyish sense, not in the sluttish one)

The heir whos strategy i need is a socially conservative priest. He justifies any underhand actions he does, with that they are for the good of the realm.

I don't have any fix ideas about the other familiy yet.
