Thanks, i think i can definitly use the wet wench scenario, and propably the one with the bard as well.

Now clarifications:

More for women are roughly the same as cinematic* medieval mores, and stricter (then usual cinematic medival mores, not strichter then for women) for men, especially for nobles. Sex outside ones class/caste is a very strong taboo. A multi class couple, or a bastard as child of such a couple, would be lower in the social hierarchy, then commoners.

Still men have it easier to deny that they had an affair, since they don't get pregnant themselfs. And the low status of bastards, does give an incentive even for the mother to pretend that the father is someone of her own class. (though still out of wedlock children are below wedlock children in the social hierarchy)

I am not locking for a plan for the pcs to do, but for NPCs. The old Baron will ask the royal buerocracy (the pcs) to protect the marrige negotiations from interference from the familiy he had first engadged his kids to. (which will never come)

Meanwhile one pc, with an involuntary duty disad, on account of being blackmailed, will get the job to foil the marrige plans. I leave it up to her to come up with something, i am sure she will. Propably he also sends other agents as well.

And additionally the priests conspiracy will also try to foil the marrige plans, independently of anyone else.

The ideal outcome would be, that the priests conspiracy will be exposed by the pcs, while the blackmailed pc manages to foit the marrige plans. I also want to keep some plan B, where one of the priests attempts succeeds, or anything else prevents the marrige, because a marrige would really mess
up the rest of that story arc.

* i don't make claims how far or close they are to actual medieval mores.
