Hello Johannes, there doesn't have to be an actual affair to make this work. The credible appearance of an affair should do the job, and with the right "shocked" witnesses to spread rumors, even the possibility of an illicit affair might be enough.
I'm assuming a "pseudo-medieval" code of morals here, where the feudal system puts great stock in lines of paternity, without the means to check it other than locking the women away. There will be double standards when it comes to men and women, too. A woman will be much easier to "dishonor". * They don't need the consent of both or even one side. Imagine a naked man and a scantily clad woman in a room with just one door, and a respectable matron opening that door. After a hard day's ride, tell the groom to get a bath. Soak a tavern wench in cold water, have another woman get her out of the cold clothes, and tell her to get a hot bath -- quickly, while the water is hot and the room is empty. Coordinate that with the arrival of an elderly female relative of the Baron. Timing is left to the cleverness of the player characters. If the groom's party can explain that away, spike his wine with strong, tasteless liquor, get him into the arms of an equally drunk woman, and arrange for someone to find them. Second strike. Will he get a third? That might be hard on the wenches, but it is all for the good of the realm, right? * Could a woman be duped/bribed to to have actual intercourse with a drunk, drugged, or bound and gagged groom? She wouldn't have to know who he is, after all. The problem with this setup is what she'll say to the old Baron, of course. Do you have a typical fantasy world where it comes to the presence of female adventurers, mercs, thieves, etc.? Have one of the characters get an adventuress drunk and propose a "friendly bet". * Find a disreputable bard, get him seriously drunk, and get him into the chambers of the bride. Shortly after the bride enters her rooms, have a "reputable matron" open the door and scream. * If a carefully scripted confession is required for full impact, give the pawn some gold in advance, and both a credible escape plan and the promise of more gold afterwards. The chief conspirator is a priest. Can he claim jurisdiction over the pawn? Claim that he is a lay brother, and hence under church control, and "sentence" him to a life in a monastery under a vow of silence. Then make him disappear.
