The adventure is scheduled for the 2nd of July so i still have a bit time
to prepare.
Hodurose is both backwater and not particulary prosperous, so Sumia (the
daughter) does not really have her own staff, that she hires herself, but
rather can command around some of her fathers retainers.
She also does not really have noteworthy funds herself.
My plan for her rescure operation is, that when the Barons health gets so
bad, that he can't run the day to day operation of the Barony anymore, she
will simply take some cash from the treasury and disapeare with it. Thats
a prelimiary plan however, i am not really fixed on that, it could be that
some "benefactor" already gives her funds now, only she takes a while to
plan.
I have a sort of tomboy-semi-confidant in mind already, the nanny of the
kids of the Baron of Dnir (the neighbouring barony), who is a mix of nanny
and bodyguard, looking more the latter. Her father is not all too happy
about her fraternizing (sororizing?) with her, but he has debts with the
Baron of Dnir, and is quite happy that the Baron of Dnir is rather lenient
with deadlines, so he can't very well snub the Baron of Dnir with "my
daughter must not visit yours".
The Baron of Dnir BTW, loves hardly anything more then underming or
disrupting any sort of decorum, his motives for taking some of his staff,
including the nanny, also include the shcck value it has on his more
conservative and dignified neighbours.
She is not a full confidant though, because she might report to her
employer (who then would either set things in motion to stop the
expedition, or provide enough assistance, that a hasty rescue operation
by the pcs would be retundant). She is a good source to learn adventuring
skills and general knowledge of the world out there though.
I will add some additional confidants.
It is already planned, that her tomboy habits are a minus in the marrige
market, but they are already a known quantity. Different parties will try
to play them up or down however. One thing i have planned for instance is,
that she has a chance to ride out, when the guests are not there, and have
an agent delay her, to make sure the guests see her in riding gear,
smelling of sweat and horse.
