A story about the daughter having a secret lover would probably prevent
a marriage until proven untrue. That is something the PCs could work on.

Or if the proposed husband is a nice guy, telling him that the daughter
does not like him and does not want to marry him might get him to call
off the wedding.

A story that the daughter isn't actually the daughter of the Baron (the
Baron's wife had a lover!) might mess things up all over.

Perhaps the potential husband's family can be attacked by rumor. Claim
they are part of a treasonous conspiracy? Claim that the potential
husband abuses women? Perhaps a servant can be bribed to claim that he
made unwanted advances.

If there is truthful bad information about the family, even better!
Maybe one of the cousins is a werewolf, married an elf, is a
necromancer, ran away to join the circus, eloped with his sister, or
whatever bad things happen in your society. Does the Baron really want
his family associated with such goings-on?

Other things that might disrupt a wedding: Get the groom drunk and
hooked up with a bridesmaid, the bride's sister, etc, a few nights
before the wedding. It doesn't even have to really happen, as long as it
looks like it did. Bonus points if the groom was too drunk to honestly
remember. A truth spell might not even work.

Sabotage the wedding dress and the other clothes. Bonus points for being
clever, like replacing all the measurements with some a few sizes too
small. Or put itching powder in them.
