According to 3E vehicles, the weight of both FTL sensors and FTL

The TL14/TL15 ships I've been posting recently have ranges of
several lightyears, and that is against a standard SM+4 target.
The reason is to overcome the massive stealth penalties at high
TLs, especially if you assume that deceptive jammers, force
screen stealth, and conventional stealth stack.

I've never been terribly happy with the assumption that ability to see through countermeasures and stealth is the same thing as the ability to see distant targets (especially for active sensors). That aside, as all FTL tech is very much TL^ with campaign-specific parameters, it's one of those things that I think one is expected to tweak if the default assumptions don't give the results you like.

Clearly, the 3e rules as written do not support limited FTL comms range if the comms exist at all.
