Hello everybody,

the third edition, second printing of Space (for 3E) has x-ray 
laser warhead on p. 117. Supposedly their big advantage is the 
standoff range, since they don't have to go all the way into 
the point defense envelope. 

Damage is (5d+10)*2(2) on the century scale, so it becomes two
attacks at 6d*130(2), right?

By TL12, it is possible to armor starships against attacks on 
this scale, right? That would mean x-ray lasers are not really
viable as anti-ship missiles, while they are overkill in the 
anti-missile role. 

Does that sound logical?
