The funny thing is that all this started over a question about what kind
of netbook one should use.
Bottom line is that whether someone feels more comfortable with a
notetaker specifically designed for blind consumers, or would rather
prefer a netbook such as was a part of this original discussion, one
should go with what one wants to go with. In short, if a Braille Sense
or Voice Sense floats your boat, that is what you should have. If using
Window-Eyes on a netbook is what makes you happy and more productive,
then that is what you should use. GW Micro will provide products for
many types of users. Some use a PC, a netbook, and a notetaker
interchangeably while others just use netbooks/pcs and yet still others
use just notetakers. The one very good thing about the Sense line of
notetakers we offer is that they are Windows-like which means a smaller
learning curve. The nice thing about the netbooks is that there does not
need to be an official GW Micro statement about how they are Window-Eyes
ready or compliant or officially supported because let's face it, if
they run MS Windows, Window-Eyes will just work on them.
We hate to be list cops because we have more important things to get
done such as releasing Window-Eyes 7.1, and the next version of the
Sense notetakers, but I figured I'd step in and hopefully this message
will be read by all sides and hopefully we can all step back, take a
collective breath, and virtually shake hands with those who have
opposite views from our own.
Cheers
