The problem is we don't have all the facts.  That's what we're asking for.
What is Valve's reason for not sending a response to all the 1000's of
emails to this list regarding this issue?  What is Valve's position?  This
is all we want to know.

BTW.  What is the last product Valve made any money on?  Is Valve going
under?  Do they have cash flow?  Do they have new product in the pipe?  How
many people at Valve still work on HL/HLDS code fixing and new features?  Is
HL retail revenue funding this continuing work?  If not, where is the money
coming from?  Maybe I'm in the dark as I don't read the gaming press, but
has Valve published or sold a new product since HL, besides revenue from
retail CS?
