If it's a kernel issue, I've heard that the next LTS of Ubuntu will come with a
new kernel that is already set to 1000 hz, does anyone know if there is any
validity in that?

Here are the current server settings:

Fps_max is set to 300
Sv_maxupdaterate "101" ( def. "60" )
Sv_minupdaterate "70" ( def. "10" )
Sv_maxcmdrate "101" ( def. "40" )
Sv_mincmdrate "70" ( def. "0" )
Sv_maxrate "250000" ( def. "0" )
Sv_minrate "100000" (def. "3500" )

The FPS seem to dip down to about 35.0 with a load, but otherwise seem stable
at 49. The load has never hit 2.0 on the server at all. In landscape my 3 day
graph maxes out at 1.75 during peak usage.

I'm letting it run on the default tic rate.
