Ahh. That kinda makes sense. I've always wondered if different programmers 
did it differently, and Valve never got around to making it consistent.

You know really makes my brain hurt? I've had the server running all day and 
at no time did it appear on the steam browser (AFAICT, anyhow). I forwarded 
port to a windows box, mapped a share to it, started it up. Appears on steam 
browser within ten seconds. Go back to linux box, put port back. Start 
server. Whammo, it appears on steam list, and is still there. Now that just 
isn't funny. The only thing I did was forward port 27015 to a windows box, 
and then back to the linux box. WTF?
