You sound like a salesperson trying to sell more expensive OEM equipment AND who hasn't used the HP 130 too much...AND doesn't know much a canvas and protectant sprays...You sir are a perfect example why one should find out for themselves rather than listen to the so called experts...Sure the MUCH more expensive units have more capabilites but you aren't giving the HP 130 nearly enough credit for what it can do...I have printed over a thousand 24x36" canvas and lustre prints using a HP 100 and now the HP 130 so I feel I have more than enough experience to express my opinions... It will easily handle 20 mil 100% cotton duck canvas FROM THE FRONT...Forget about the back unless you use light paper and the roll attachment... Using QUALITY 3rd party inks with proper ICC profiling and you will get equal or better results than the OEM Vivera inks...Use less expensive proofing paper until the results are perfect for the final canvas print...Start out with a resized 8x10 to see how close you are and then work up from there... Saying you will waste ink/canvas because of 3rd party inks is ridiculous...Do you thinks HP actually makes their own inks?...NOT... Krylon spray on UV protectant is PERFECT for canvas...Stating spraying canvas is not effective is ignorant...Using Illuminata canvas and the Krylon spray with archival, UV dye inks will produce a surface that only lacquer thinner will penetrate...In fact the canvas itself is so good that a very wet water rub will not smear at all... There is no doubt that pigment inks offer some longevity values...But along with that goes the extra cost and much more plugging which equals down time AND lost media... I've used a CIS for 4 years with my old HP 100 and newer HP 130 with not one problem...The entire unit with quality inks cost me the same as one complete cartridge change...I've estimated at already saving over a grand in ink costs...
