Oh I hope so! As mainframers retire I've seen them get replaced with folks who tend to struggle for weeks (literally) with things we would call simple (i.e. downloading a third-party product to a USS file). What I'd like to see is the equivalent of a Windows Next/Next/Finish installation of course, but more importantly I'd like to see the *same* installation method for *all* installs - like Windows generally does.

Want to install SAS? Run the same install. Want to install z/OS maintenance? Run the same install. It doesn't have to be z/OSMF or Webified. It could be a TSO command ISPF dialog, as long as it's the same for everything and the work is done under the covers instead of making new sysprogs struggle with things like how to create and mount a temporary ZFS, or whatever.

I know experienced folks want to know exactly what is happening to their system during the install. I do too, but that has to change in order for this to work. I don't know what is happening when I install something on Windows or Linux and I manage.
