The riding evaluation is also judging each horse against a certain standard
rather than other horses that are at that particular evaluation.  Don't know
if that is what you mean.

I know some people on this list don't like the evaluation process in terms
of what they are judging for because it is not what the average person who
has Icelandics may be looking for.  However it is pretty much the same
(meaning that they have a specific testing standards that every horse in the
breed is judged on)  for every breed that does have an evaluation process
which is pretty much limited to the European breeds.

I am not sure that most people who are looking for pleasure horses really
care if the horse is evaluated or not.  Whenever I was looking for horses in
Iceland I looked at the horse first, rather than whether it was evaluated or
not.  With the stallions it was the same - I bought the horses for what they
presented to me first and decided, and then looked at the scores.
