A few more things re: my broken iMac...
I do have my data backed up...I just can't use it becuse the Performa is
too small and too slow for the software. (It gives new meaning to "click
and dr-a-a-a-g").
In 15 years and 10 Macs, this is the first one that has required any
service other than a battery replacement. Compared to the 2 PC's at work
it is a phenomenal record.
The tech is going to try one more time - the third power/analog/video
board - the consensus is that it is more likely to have two bad
replacement p/a/v boards than a bad CRT. So we should know the final word
later today, coincidentally the same day as Steve's "keynote address"!
