See this is the one thing I think pcs have over the mac. If I burn
anything out on my pc's , it's usally my video cards, and it's cause I have
them overclocked and there way too hot. They usually die if one of the fans
I put on them kicks the bucket.

None the less, changing a vid card is a matter of goign out, buying one, and
popping ol one out, put new one in, run install program lol. The guy at the
mac store almost had a stroke when I told him I'd upgrade the ram myself. He
was trying to pimp off some pc-100 ram for about twice the price the pc
store has it at. ( mitsubishi ram I think too ewww,) I told him, no thnaks,
I'll go buy my 512 meg dimms next door, and get micron.

BUt thats the only thing that spooks me, not being able to service my own
computer. That and the high cost of getting it repaired.

Two side notes though, anyone notice there Imacs are really hot? I put my
hand where the "handle" with the vents is, and was like damm. I ran a small
utility I found to get the temp and it was 49 degrees celcius. Thats very
hot for pc standards, is this normal for macs?

Second, well, i decided that the mac os, 9 and X, weren't for me. 9 just
isnt stable enough, and X, well it looks like a cheap X-Windows rip off to
be honest. I decided to put YellowDog linux with Gnome as my windows manager
on instead. I figure if I'm gonna be using a unix like environment, I might
as well get something solid. Maybe I'll try Mac OS after the next revision,
but for now it's linux kernel 2.4 for me :)

5:30 am, done at the office finaly. I left a dvd encoding on my mac last
night to DivX and aparently it did it in under two hours, very impresive.
