i placed a digital photo i had scanned onto the desktop (the desktop picture, that is, in system preferences) and now when I try to call up the desktop preferences pane (from system preferences), it won't come up. I get the rolling pizza of death, so I have to force quit (i've waited as long as a half hour for it to work, to no avail)
i finally got a standard desktop background (picture) back (the default blue abstract one), which I thought would solve the problem, but the problem persists. The pizza still rolls when I click on "desktop" preference
any ideas or procedures for taking care of this?
