It's much more than an FTP function. It is also a Credit Card POS
verification and secure FTP. There is more underlying than you might see on
the surface.

Their installed customer base is *rapidly* shifting to OS 10.

OS 9 is dead. Period. Apple and developers are not wasting any more money
on OS 9 based projects. Why develop for the past? Deal with it. They are
moving forward. Just like all the grumblings when OS 7 was released and
then OS 8. It's all the same thing. There is a little larger technical
"jump" this time but it's the same concept. I remember people saying that
they would "NEVER upgrade to 7.5....EVER!!!!!!!". But Apple pulled the plug
on OS 6 and earlier and looked towards the future...as they are doing now.

I am directing this not to Dennis, but to all users using 9 and earlier. If
you are happy with OS 9 on your G3 upgraded 7500 then fine (or whatever
machine). Stick with it. Have a good time. But don't go b*tching about
new programs that don't work with your 6 year old hardware and 4 year old
OS. I, for one, appreciate the lengths that Apple has already gone to
integrate OS 9 with 10 by Classic implementation, and feel that they have
done *more* than enough. It's time to move forward. Even my 60+ year old
parents migrated from OS 9 to OS 10.2 and they are just fine. I just made
them get a copy of "OS X the Missing manual" and they were good to go with
only a few questions.
