OS X does
run better under the dual processors.. Do a little more research,
this is a major problem for Apple.

Agreed. But it is plain that they are trying to do something about this -- Fred Anderson flat-out TOLD analysts to expect new towers later this year. That's something they NEVER do, announce things in advance.

and is holding back the switch to
OS X

Again, I couldn't agree more.

Approximately 25% of Apple users have switched.

This is true, but you make it sound like a BAD thing. It's a higher percentage of users than PC users who have switched to XP (last I saw they were struggling to hit 20%).

Three years ago I attended an Apple "technical kitchen" on OS X. At that time, Apple believed it would take five years to get half the base to switch over. So far, they appear to be right on schedule with their predictions -- the iTunes Music Store has inspired at least a dozen "holdouts" I know to finally make the switch. They may actually beat their own prediction!

to run an unfinished OS X run a little faster
then OS 9.

I really must object to this phrase. Mac OS X is NOT "unfinished" except in the sense that ALL operating systems are ALWAYS "unfinished." There is ALWAYS something more you can do to them.

By your logic, Windows isn't even out of beta yet!

Two studies in "Innovation":
28-Apr-03: Apple introduces revolutionary legal music service (300,000 downloads @ .99/ea on the first day), releases iTunes4 (by far the best jukebox software in the world), updates Quicktime to encode AAC audio (superior to MP3).

30-Apr-03: Microsoft's MSN division introduces the iLoo, a portable toilet with internet access. A week later, they claim it was "a hoax" they played on themselves. A day after that, they admit it was a real product but it's now been killed (and that they lied when they called it a "April Fool's joke"). This from the company that wants to bring you "Trustworthy Computing."
