Just about every computer I see requires some dust-bunny extermination or similar cleaning. We have three towers, and an iMac and an eMac. They don't cool properly without regular cleaning. I wonder when someone is going to come up with a small adhesive external fan kit specifically designed for iMacs that will silently blow or suck air through them. Every iMac owner would want one to extend the life of the failure-prone components in the iMac and cool the DVD player.

It's funny ya know. The very first Mac family (the 128k, 512k and Plus) are known to have a dramatically longer life if you can rig a cooling system (mine has 2 old 486 CPU fans at the top vents to speed up convection) to stop them overheating. Same all-in-one design, same damn problem! You'd think people would learn!

For my money, if you a re really serious I'd buy an 8cm cooling fan for a PC and rig it to extract air from the top vents. You an get really nice fans made of clear plastic if you really want to go to town, and you can do all sorts of silly business constructing ducts out of cardboard and stuff, but really anything is better than nothing.
