Hmm, I'd still advise caution, as I don't see anything of the sort after a brief Google search. (I could be wrong, of course, these things evolve constantly. :-) FWIW, this query often comes up (see iPod Lounge Forums, for example: <http://www.ipodlounge.com/>) and the answer is usually "Nope, doesn't exist".
Even if it does, ya gotta know there would be a speed degradation that would probably interfere with usability.

You are probably right about speed degradation, but we are talking about download from imac to ipod. The imac, which is now running 10.2.8 has no problem downloading music. I did a google search to find a specific cable and here is a URL showing several merchants and their prices for this cable. So that part does exist. I'm looking for someone who is using this for input.
