That part I do know or at least was told by a tech at B&H Photo, that there is a FireWire to USB cable for $18.95, if I remember the price correctly, that would work in this type of iMac. They are a pretty savvy professional digital supplier.
Hmm, I'd still advise caution, as I don't see anything of the sort after a brief Google search. (I could be wrong, of course, these things evolve constantly. :-) FWIW, this query often comes up (see iPod Lounge Forums, for example: <http://www.ipodlounge.com/>) and the answer is usually "Nope, doesn't exist".
Even if it does, ya gotta know there would be a speed degradation that would probably interfere with usability.
