I have used GraphicConvert forever, and after paying the shareware on it, Limpke actually updated the older version to include pictures on a TRS-80 Model 4P with a high Rez board. Believe me, Photoshop won't do that. What I wish, is the Graphic Convert would allow you to set up parameters for each folder in a folder, and then simply let the program do it, without individual attention. He said I can do that in my browser. I haven't asked him for an explanation of the process, because I'm afraid he'd think I am dumb or something. I guess I simply don't know how to use GC on my 9.1 system browser, Mozilla.

>I beg to differ. When I Control-click on a folder on my desktop
called "Pix" I can see a contextual menu with a sub-list of every one of the photos in the folder. All I have to do is to mouse-over each one and a thumbnail of the photo appears. I have available to me many options in the contextual menu. If I click on one of the thumbnails, it opens in a full sized photo, which I can then use in other ways too.

I have no such feature on my Mac. I control click on a folder full of
pics, the context menu pops up, no submenu with a list of the contents.
You must be running something that does this.

But, then again, I stay current with the OS, I'm running 10.4.4, whereas 10.3.9 is four updates behind. If you are comparing Mac OS to XPee's latest incarnation, shouldn't you compare it to the most recent OS?

I'm on 10.4.4 on an Intel iMac as well as 10.4.4 on a 400 MHz G3 iMac.
Not present in either. As for comparing to XP, the thumbnail view was
available since the first release of XP, which was what... 2001? 2002? So
comparing it to any reasonably current version of OS X is giving OS X the
advantage already.

But don't get me wrong... sure, this is a great feature in XP, but one
good feature does not a good OS make. I'll keep my Mac and OS X and just
accept the loss of the thumbnail view ability. Pointing out that XP has
it, at least in my opinion, is not saying XP is better, instead it is a
simple "hey, this is a handy feature, any way to replicate it on the Mac"
issue. :-)
