Hi Dave, We're working on a spam review app one we intend to release in December. Initially it will be for IMail, but we should be able to release a SmarterMail version shortly thereafter. It should just be a matter of minor configuration changes to work with SmarterMail, so the initial release may work for it as well.
We're designing it to have a very flexible architecture to automate many of the management tasks related to the spam review process. Many of those processes are quite painful for us now, so our main motivation for building it is to create a flexible system for one or two button/click actions on messages in the queue. We'll announce to the list when it's ready for a public beta since several have asked about it. We have about 60 domains. > > > What add-ons are you using for AV and/or Antispam? Is it included? I see > Declude works with the, but it is pricey. I can't justify that expense > for > Declude. If I could, then I would have stuck with Imail. We are using Declude Junkmail Pro. Declude works very well. However, I do have one major complaint with the declude/smartermail combination. There is no way to quickly review held spam for false positives. Therefore, we may be losing legitimate business email and we have no way to find it or determine to what extent this is happening. Declude has been promising me that "next week" they'll provide me with an updated version of Spamreview, which is a tool for reviewing the spam folder contents. Declude has the source code for the software. Later they told me a customer was working on spamreview. Well, needless today, months and months have passed with no solution and we're left in bad situation. The work around options we found aren't very practical. If you look at a Declude purchase, I recommend you make it contingent on Declude providing a decent solution for identifying false positives. We also use F-Prot to scan for viruses. > > > Does SmarterMail support connection filtering bypassing the last machine? > Meaning if I have a store and forward or a gateway scanner, can > SmarterMail > be configured to ignore the last connection and use the one prior to that > connection? Not sure on that one. We're not set up that way but you could call smartertools and ask them. > > > Thanks for the info....it is helpful in my decision making for the budget > bny the end of the month for next year. Unless, as I told Kevin, Imail > really steps up, my budget is going to be allotted to SmarterTools. > Ipswitch priced themselves out of the market. They had a niche but now because of the cost they are targeting higher end companies and companies with deep pockets are probably going to go with exchange anyway. Ipswitch capitulating to the heat they took is too little to late in my book. Nothing says they won't stick it to the little guy again in the future. You would be happy with smartermail and its affordable and smoking fast too! --- [This E-mail scanned for viruses by Declude Virus] To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
