I do want to stick with ipswitch but they do have a bad
habit of making it a rocky relationship. The price of the SA being
$1000 is a big stickler for me when "other" products can be had for
less and offer more. If I were ipswitch I'd think about buying that
other company. Gary Jorgenson wrote: just want to throw in my 2cents... I'm sticking with Ipswitch. I don't know of too many software vendors who haven't had a release that bombed (windows 95, dBase4, etc). My sense is that Ipswitch is working hard to smooth this out and it's worth the wait.-Gary Gary Jorgenson, RN President - Robin Technologies, Inc. 670 Lakeview Plaza Blvd., Suite J | Worthington, OH 43085 Phone: 614.888.3001 | Fax: 614.888.3002 | Cell: 614.657.8080 [EMAIL PROTECTED] | www.robintek.com -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Kevin R. Gillis Sent: Wednesday, January 18, 2006 5:59 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [IMail Forum] IMail 2006.02 and Consensus... hi Richard and all, thanks for the comments and we take this very seriously: "Finally, and for what it is worth I want Ipswitch to know I would prefer their product over another's - that's why I've paid the dough..." we are working on a 2006.02 release which will be coming in the next week or so. it includes Public Contacts support and addresses the last major config/install issues that we are aware of and a fix for a racing condition with smptd. there's also a new section in the Release Notes that documents configuring IMail with a different user than IUSR. there are a few parity issues we are still working on with languages, print, delete key support and link to web cal being right at the top, and they will come in future releases. there still are some customers running into issues but most are running okay. if you are still experiencing issues, any issues, please call me directly (781.676.5739) and I will personally escalate and we will work with you until we reach resolution! from y'day and today, i've heard of 3 customers that are still experiencing issues (joe w, richard and sylvain) - let me know how you'd like to proceed (email, phone, etc.). we have heard of some web performance issues and are asking customers, if they willing, to provide us with a un/pw to login so we can see/experience the issues and help resolve - it's possible that it's related to the smtpd issue that we just fixed (and not specifically web related). Several of us use Web Messaging at Ipswitch and have not run into performance issues (granted the largest folder that i personally have has about 1,300 messages, but others are no doubt much larger). we understand the frustration that some are experiencing, but regarding the posts on other products, I agree with Richard, in that we ask that folks be professional and prudent and take issues off line if they're not pertinent. straight slamming is not as helpful without recommendations/suggestions. if there's a feature or capability that you need or want to see based on seeing it in a competitor, that's an example of a topic that is completely fair game. If you are leaving IMail to go somewhere else, i definitely want to know why (if you're willing to share) so we can address for other customers and future customers. If you are thinking about coming to IMail but need a few new features before migrating, I definitely want to know. bye for now, kg -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Richard Bowman Sent: Wednesday, January 18, 2006 11:52 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Consensus I don't think anyone can say that this product wasn't rushed out before it was ready... not only did we pay for it with cash we now pay for it in terms of aggravation as well... having said that I am sure someone will comment that the product is perfect... you know what bothers me - I buy product all the time - 250k this year - I will admit it is never as it is promised - BUT - when there is a problem usually the company comes to the table and says we will make it right... Now having said that! I wrote into this esteemed group knowing full well that Ipswitch's people are also here with us reading the posts... has anyone seen a refund offer - has anyone heard a "we will gladly extend your service contract to a period beyond.... and beginning the day we deliver a true working product". There's the rub... some companies are good to their clients and earn a loyal following and some just figure we can suck it up... I don't like talking about another companies product here in this forum (I'd like to show Ipswitch more loyalty then it has shown me) but as it has been mentioned I will add that when smartermail releases their v3 product in the next few weeks I will watch their forum and see what problems there are? If it goes as well as their last release I will buy it and shelve this product for now or forever depending on how well it does. (If you look at their open forum you note their product doesn't have much in terms of problems...) Finally, and for what it is worth I want Ipswitch to know I would prefer their product over anothers - that's why I've paid the dough... IPSWITCH - COME TO THE TABLE - I HAVE FIFTEEN HUNDRED CLIENTS AND I CANNOT PUT THEM ON WHAT YOU'VE SOLD ME - I BELIEVE IN MY OBLIGATIONS TO MY CLIENTS -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Richard Bowman Sent: Tuesday, January 17, 2006 10:28 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Consensus HMMMMM... now here is a question... I just paid good money for a license for the 2006 product, that apparently isn't working yet.. The thoughts that cross my mind are that sooner then later they will be asking us for service contracts for the next year for a product that even by then might not be working fully... So the question is, should we as a group - class action if need be depending on their (Ipswitchs') willingness to do the right thing - should we be looking for a refund of our monies paid or an extension of our yearly service agreement... It's clear this new product wasn't even ready... Ipswitch come to the table for your long standing and incredibly loyal client base.... I have personally spent over 10 hours on the phone with tech support (or on hold waiting for them) and it is impossible to get a correctly working version of Imail 2006 at this time. Even the tech support people have demonstrated frustration with Ipswith on this issue. Save yourself a lot of headaches and MAD customers. Stay where you are for now. -Joe ----- Original Message ----- From: "Cameron Biggart" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, January 16, 2006 8:06 PM Subject: [IMail Forum] Consensus |
