It's not trolling at all, particularly from a previous long time customer. 

Personally, I have / had been with IpSwitch for years. Been on this group
for years also - not as active as some, but always using the list / forums
for support - Travis you never heard from me, but I found your post to be
particularly helpful.

At some point I bought an upgrade (i.e. SA)to version 8,9? But IpSwitch sat
on my order for like 10 days and then would not honor the special upgrade
purchase price (even though I had paid for the upgrade via credit card
during the upgrade period) this is all documented on this list from about 2
years ago. After that mess, I noted others were jumping ship and so, I sat
on my hands until this year when I just had to move to a more modern email
system. So I tried SmarterMail - it's not perfect but it does seem to work
well and is well (at least better) supported.

It's was a tough call to move to a new email system and I am still going
through some teething pains, but it is unlikely that I will be coming back
to IpSwitch. I will be unsubscribing from this list eventually, the only
reason I am responding tonight is that I am a little bored, and find it
amazing that these support problems just keep on and on.

I am about to evaluate SmarterTrack for a couple of my customers, but as yet
have no experience with it.

This isn't directed at just Travis, so it's not that I'm singling you out.

IMO, posting on the IMail board about moving to SmarterMail is a form of 
trolling. It is not helpful to the community as a whole to here things 
that are unconstructive and even destructive to the future of IMail.

I'm no Ipswitch fanboy myself, and in the past they did plenty of harm 
to their reputation through their actions. Their product is generally 
very solid outside of webmail issues where they got caught up in the 
whole DHTML craze only to find browser compatibility was a huge PITA. 
Their biggest downfall was probably the price increase which followed 
trying to exit the market. Someone at one point over there clearly 
thought that they were going to compete with groupware, and they lost 
out on the hosting provider market in the process. From the customer 
perspective, they probably couldn't move fast enough back towards what 
some of us want or expect, but it's not like they aren't trying at all. 
I think that sort of dialog is helpful rather than being unconstructive 
or destructive.

So if you moved on to SmarterMail, maybe consider unsubscribing from the 
list, or at least think twice about telling others to move when posting 
on this list.
