If the client setting is 'mail is not left on the server' and you check the
users folder and see main.mbx is not zero bytes (just after the user
checked), then something is messing up communications between the client and
the server and IMail does not 'know' that the client has gotten everything,
so it won't delete the mail until it is sure the client downloaded all
successfully.
By all means, increase the time between checks! Multiple checks before
completing the first download can cause multiple copies to be observed!
Multiple accesses to the same mailbox can also lead to an 'mis-identified'
state, by the client. So make sure all connections to that mailbox are
closed, then open the email client, once,.
It is possible that a connection was not closed correctly and IMail still
thinks the connection exists, so it is not letting other processes make
updates. Stop all client access services (SMTP, POP3, IMAP4, Web MSG) and
start them up again. Now try the client (again, only once) and see if the
main.mbx goes to zero bytes after downloading the messages.
