Were you using Hubs or switches? And were they 3Com as well?  Just
interested, but I do have a case where an Intel Pro card would not work with
my 3Com switch when it worked fine in a hub.(It was an old Pro though, so
that isn't conclusive.)

Integrated Intel Eths on some of my servers work well though. I only buy
3Com 905's.

Here's my 2 cents on 3Com and Intel NIC's:

Our non-scientific tests show that 3Com 905's can outperform current Intel
Pro's by about 50%.  Our tests were performed on the same computers by
replacing just the NIC's.  We moved large files back and forth on both NT
and Novell platforms.  The 3Coms can move the files in 2/3 the time an
Intel card would.
