This is still Microsoft's problem at root, as Scott describes well in his DQ page; the fact that not just NT, but 2K too is affected casts the usual poor light on MS. Certainly, Ipswitch could employ the workarounds that Scott (and some of the rest of us) do in compiling custom delivery processes and forking to SMTP32, but they'd have to figure these out for themselves using the API documentation. It's a question of waiting for MS' fix (no new dev, possibly dangerous customer service) vs. proactively developing/recoding/recompiling around the issue (new dev/QA effort, good service practice). I agree that the latter should have been done, yet I understand why it keeps slipping through the cracks, especially because theoretically sound, cross-platform code will still suffer from this problem on Windows (a look at advanced systems programming guides will show you that this bug is given essentially no coverage).
