It would help very little, reduce the RBL query time very slightly, probably immeasurably, while giving yourself a big maintenance headache from adminning a DNS server with many multi-megabyte zone files that have to be updated from the master site frequently.


don't waste your time. you're barking up the wrong tree.

A much bigger payoff, in many more ways, and with much less hassle, would be to move your RBL lookups, the bulk of your rejections, all DNS queries, and outgoing deliveries from IMail to a separate MX like IMGate. Tons of work from your Imail server, and for 100K (net) msgs/day, maybe a T-1 savings in bandwidth.
