server? If the client is doing nothing on HIS servers to make him
suspicious, why would he suspect the client was a spammer?

Actually, you do.  If you are hosting a spammer's site, and they use another
method to transmit spam, YOU (as seen) can/will get blacklisted.  It's that
simple.  It's like saying you are harboring terrorist training camps, but
they don't launch attacks from your soil, they walk to another country and
do it.  You are still going to be a target.

Sorry for all of the Terrorist references. :)
