The client has not been a spammer and they are not spamming.
The client is supporting a political campaign.
They hired a company to handle this for them.
That company registered the domain and used my clients IT admins email address and they got it from looking up their WHOIS info.
He was not even aware of this before I brought it to his attention.
He did correct it but we are still being punished (blacklisted) for something that we do not control and did not do.
This is not about supporting spammer or not. Its pretty scary that we can be blacklisted for something we do not control.
I can do this to everybody that posts on this list.

But how was he to know that his client listed an email address from his server? If the client is doing nothing on HIS servers to make him suspicious, why would he suspect the client was a spammer?

Actually, you do. If you are hosting a spammer's site, and they use another method to transmit spam, YOU (as seen) can/will get blacklisted. It's that simple. It's like saying you are harboring terrorist training camps, but they don't launch attacks from your soil, they walk to another country and do it. You are still going to be a target.
Sorry for all of the Terrorist references. :)
