do the logging problems always occur when opening a new logfile? if so,
that would seem more likely a windows problem than a IMS problem at
first glance. BTW, what version of windows is running on that box?

As with many threads, the original pursuit can disolve into the details.. :)
The 'errors' in the log file are only notable since they are always the first
item. The real issue if the inconsistant pops3 logging.
I checked the event viewer and at 28-11-04 12:00:00 AM POP3S has an entry:
event id 38
Error opening log file "C:\usr\EMWAC\MAIL\Pop3log\1041128.log" - logging
temporaily disabled.
-Odd since POP3S was able to open the previous 8 logs were opened without err,
and upon sop/restart of POP3S the log was opened.

What is the POP3S version that you are running.. date and size.. am I

CAPA is an extension to pop3 in rfc2449 (1998). POP3S supports the
protocol as per rfc1081 (1988). You can safely ignore the message -
it's just informing the client that it doesnt support that command.
From what I read of rfc2449, it seems to be adding stuff from IMAP4 to
POP3. Looks like it's been written by the eudora people (there are 2
from qualcomm listed as authors).
klint.
