It's unlikely that you would get such complaints.  Most people won't realize
why the name they were given doesn't work, and if they do realize it, they
won't know who to complain to.

Consider this a complaint in advance.

  If it ever
  became a problem its easy enough to change.

When it becomes a problem, it will be impossible to change, because it will
require a traversal of your entire afs tree to find all the symlinks.
