People write for some market share that they feel comfortable with, that's all. Whether it's IE, or Flash, or HTML5 (which is basically being written by one person), it doesn't really matter that much. What is at least decent about Apple is that Webkit and Safari are leading the implementation of a variety of web specs, including HTML5 and CSS. That is progressing our capabilities to deliver content, unlike MSFT who pretty much stopped development on IE for a long time.
