Hi Magnus,
Interesting, this. It is clear from the log that the msp3400 doesn't
detect a proper TV audio standard:
msp3400 5-0040: Standard: could not detect sound standard (mono)
I'm not certain why, though. There are several possibilities. First add
the 'newi2c=0' option to the ivtv module and test again. If that
doesn't help, then what I would like you to do is to do some tests with
a 2.6.14 kernel and ivtv-0.4.0. Check that sound is back (just test
with cat /dev/video0 >x.mpg), then upgrade to ivtv-0.4.1 and test
again, etc. until you find the ivtv-0.4.x version that breaks.
Please let me know which version that is.
Go back to the ivtv version before that (i.e. the last working version)
and load msp3400 with the module option debug=2. Then switch channels
and test if audio works. Please mail me the msp3400 debugging output in
the kernel log.
Hopefully this should give me a good idea where to look for the cause.
Regards,
Hans
