Yup. I've been deliberately not adding anything to the FAQ question. Stereo support on the PC seems to be very inconsistent. Some report success and others failure. I'm not really sure when all these happen and under what conditions. I've been really waiting for everything to consistently settle down and have many people, with the same or varying configs, all saying "yes it works now".
