Yeh, normal salaries in NZ for java stuff seems to be 60-90, 60k generally for intermediate level - 40k would be graduate or junior (but even then, if it was up to be I'd be paying a decent grad more than that).
Rimu's also based in Cambridge, about 10-15 minutes out of Hamilton (I'm sure you know the place) with quite low cost of living, but still - the salary would still be the main issue for me as well.
