Hopefully they will fail in that attempt! I am sure Cay would understand
me here.

Having a breed named a Service Dog is a disservice to those that are
"Service Dogs" and all the hard work we have put into having that
terminology accepted and understood for what it is for. A dog specifically
trained to mitigate a person's disability.

A breed of dog does not make a Service Dog, but offers the potential
through temperament and proper breeding and health testing. There is no
"one" breed as there is no "one" disability. Each person has different
needs that not all breeds of dogs can help with.

The training makes a Service Dog! Even the law dictates that, in requiring
trained tasks.

There is much discord in the Breeders circles over this name and I don't
know any who has adopted it nor paid the licensing fees being required to
use that name. Not only do they require you to pay but you are required
to only breed with those breeders who also have paid making the breeding
pool even smaller and tighter. In my opinion a grave disservice to the
Labradoodle.

All of the Labradoodle organizations have published statements refuting the
name change as well as an organization I understand in Australia called
Australian Service Dogs. The shortened ASD they are trying to include in
that is all ready accepted for the Australian Shepherd Dog and I think
someone mentioned another one but I am drawing a blank on it :)

While I understand the concern to distinguish the Australian Multi-Gen from
the F1 and F1B Labradoodles. I cannot condone the use of an all ready hard
earned term that they are attempting to take an advantage of using. A few
of their dogs are guide dogs, most are pet dogs, as is for other breeds out
there. It takes a very special dog to make the grade into being a Service
Dog!
