A cautionary note about microwaving Christmas pudding. I don't know whether this is actually true, but I was told that if you microwave Christmas pudding which has alcohol in it the alcohol doesn't evapourate like it would when you boil it. This is something to consider if you are drinking as well at Christmas and then driving.
A sore point for me as DH was breathalysed some weeks ago by the police after a minor accident when a drunken driver crashed into us. Fortunately he hadn't drunk anything more potent than tea, but it makes you think.
